Lilly: The Brain Behind Erection Pill

Lilly: The Brain Behind Erection Pill CialisToday, Lilly, the pharmaceutical company that developed the impotence treatment Cialis, is known worldwide and ranks among the ten largest pharmaceutical companies worldwide.

Background

Lilly was founded in 1876 by Eli Lilly in his hometown of Indianapolis. In addition to being a chemist, he was also a former colonel in the American Confederation Army, which represented the South of the United States during the American Civil War. [1]

The company started out as a salesman of various drugs and made a profit of $4,500 in its first year, which was certainly a good turnover at the time. Today, the company has operations in 55 countries, employs 40,000 people, and has sales of $23 trillion.

Over the 140-year history of this pharmaceutical company, Lilly has introduced a number of innovations to the drug industry. They developed the first effective insulin treatment for diabetes patients and were forerunners in the mass production of antibiotics during the Second World War. [2]

The development of Cialis

The chemical tadalafil was first developed during a collaboration between Glaxo Wellcome (now known as GlaxoSmithKline) and ICOS in the 1990s and was actually not intended as a treatment for impotence at all, but for angina and other cardiovascular diseases.

Following the clinical success of sildenafil  (also a PDE5 inhibitor being developed for the treatment of angina) in the treatment of impotence, the research on tadalafil also focused on the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Glaxo broke off with ICOS in 1996 as they believed that research into tadalafil as an impotence treatment was not in line with their business goals. After this split, ICOS decided to partner with Lilly (later Lilly even took over ICOS) to continue the investigation.

Further research showed that this drug had a much longer effect than other PDE5 inhibitors, with effectiveness of no less than 36 hours.

Launch of Cialis

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Cialis in 2003, making this impotence treatment available for sale. At the same time, another variant of 시알리스 , 'Cialis Daily', was also launched. For this, lower doses of 2.5 to 5 milligrams have been used to take daily for better erection function throughout the day.

In 2011, Cialis was also approved for the treatment of an enlarged prostate and, where possible, this impotence treatment was prescribed to treat both impotence and an enlarged prostate. [3]

Patent

The patent on 시알리스 has remained with Lilly since its launch. This means that Lilly is the only company  authorized to manufacture and sell Cialis  (or tadalafil for the treatment of erectile dysfunction) in the United States and Europe.

Lilly's patent will expire in 2017, however, and other pharmaceutical companies will be able to produce and sell a generic version of Cialis (under the name tadalafil).

Both Cialis and any future generic versions are  available on prescription only .

Especially if you want to buy this impotence treatment online, it is important to make sure that you buy an official version of 시알리스 in order to avoid any damage to your health from taking fake pills. When in doubt, we always recommend that you check the online pharmacy for authenticity .
