Viagra for women: Treating sexual dysfunctions in women

Like men, women experience sexual dysfunctions. 비아그라 is a well-known brand name that is known as a "wonder pill" that can help with the sex life of those who take the pill. However, this is a myth. Viagra (Sildenafil), and other oral contraceptives, have a very specific mode of action that helps to improve the sexual dysfunction in men known as erectile dysfunction or impotence.

What is Viagra?

비아그라, which contains the active ingredient Sildenafil, is used to treat men who have erectile dysfunction (also called sexual impotence). Sildenafil belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medications prevent an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type-5 from working too quickly. The penis is one of the areas where this enzyme works.

Sildenafil is also used by both men and women to treat the symptoms of pulmonary arterial hypertension. This is a form of high blood pressure that occurs between the heart and the lungs. When hypertension occurs in the lungs, the heart has to work harder to pump enough blood through the lungs. Sildenafil works on the PDE5 enzyme in the lungs to relax the blood vessels. This will quickly increase blood flow to the lungs and reduce the workload of the heart.

비아그라 is not approved for the treatment of sexual problems in women, but several women have reported that they have experienced positive improvement after using the drug.
