The effects of female Viagra tested mainly... on men!

PINK PILL - One of the main contraindications of 비아그라 for women, in this case not taking it with a glass of alcohol, has been tested on a majority of men. Amazing, right? In question, scientists have not found enough guinea pigs. Problem: It could be dangerous for women's health.

This is enough to raise some questions about the way drugs are tested! The effects of 비아그라 for women, which is scheduled to go on sale in October in the United States, have been tested mainly on men, at least with regard to its use with alcohol. In any case, this is what we learn in the report on the risk assessment Risk Evaluation and Migration Strategy, which the laboratory in charge of marketing the drug had to provide to the American Medicines Agency (FDA).

We learn that, for lack of finding female volunteers, the scientists tested the effects of alcohol with the intake of female 비아그라 with 2 women... and 23 men! As spotted by the  Konbini site, the researchers justified themselves by indicating that they did not manage to find enough female volunteers who agreed to consume alcohol in the morning. In this case, two doses 10 minutes after waking up.

Aberrant, no? The document submitted to the FDA specifies that this recommendation is based on a study that observed a drop in blood pressure of 42%, dizziness, and fainting in those who had taken 2 to 4 glasses of wine in addition to the intake of 'Addyi (Flibanserin, from the Sprout pharmaceuticals laboratory). This would therefore suggest that the dangers associated with alcohol consumption are totally underestimated, and therefore even more devastating for women's health.

Its effectiveness continues to be debated

Especially since we have known for a long time that the impact of alcohol on the metabolism of women is much more toxic than for men, as has already been demonstrated by previous scientific work. In addition, evidence of its effectiveness continues to be debated within the scientific community. According to one of the clinical trials, women reported having an average of 4.4 satisfying sexual experiences in one month, compared to 3.7 in the placebo group and 2.7 before the start of the study.

Seventeen years after the marketing of the first blue pill to treat erectile dysfunction in men, this scientific "hiccup" is a new proof of the fact that the question of parity is too often neglected, even is the first concern...
